Values
What you get with NLVA
Love for music
Children love to sing. They have a knack for it. You can't stop them from singing. NLVA fosters their love for music by helping them develop their talent.
Choral emphasis
Children love to sing together. Singing in a choir teaches children a variety of musical skills without the pressure of perfecting them on their own.
Growing musicians
Each age offers unique opportunities, ability, and interests. NLVA offers age-based choirs to grab students where they are and take them to the next level.
Community focus
NLVA choirs will have the opportunity to serve our local community by performing in patriotic events, nursing homes, and other local events.
Competition
NLVA choirs will have the opportunity to compete in local competitions. As we have the opportunity, we will travel for regional and national collaborations.
Music for all
Students of every level are welcome to join. There are no auditions or tryouts for our choirs. Students who excell will have the opportunity to participate in local and regional Honors Choirs.

About Me
My name is Ursula Berry. As far as I can remember, I have been in a choir. All through elementary, junior high, and high school, I was part of school choirs, conservatory choirs, and honor choirs. I participated in many years of music competitions, including choir, large vocal ensemble, small vocal ensemble, and solos. After graduating college, I directed junior high, high school, and adult choirs.
With all of the memories and experiences I have had throughout my life around choir, I was looking for opportunities for my children to be a part of. I found a few organizations that offered youth choirs, but they did not offer anything for my younger kids or have opportunities to join honor choirs or competitions as my kids got older. And to my shock and surprise, I couldn’t find any homeschool choir in the area! This is when I knew that I would need to fix this problem by creating my own choir for homeschoolers that also participated in honor choirs and competitions.
